As I was doing research for the Big data project I came across many sources that intrigued me. I watched the TED Talks done by Kenneth Cukier and Alessandro Acquisti. Both of these talks got me interested in the idea of Big Data. It is something that I never really thought of before. Going into this project I wasn’t sure what branch I wanted to learn more about. I decided that I will be going along the lines of Big Data in Social Media Marketing. As I did more research and explored the resources provided, I found some sources that I feel I could incorporate into my paper. I am going to use Alessandro Acquisti’s TED Talk, “What will a future without secrets look like?,  and use/ expand on many of the point he made in the speech. I feel that they will help me form my working thesis and support my main claims as I go through the paper. I also watched Glenn Greenwald’s TED Talk called, ” Why privacy matters”. He made some great points about privacy that I want to add to my paper as well as keep exploring. I plan on focusing a lot on privacy on Social Media so I feel as though this source will help me form and explain new and old ideas that I share or differ from. I am continuing to research more sources to help me develop more ideas and claims to add to my paper.
