As you can see from this picture, I used different color highlighters to highlight each source I used, and my own analysis/annotation. I used orange for Cukier, blue for Acquisti, purple for Greenwald, red for Kelsey, and green for my own ideas and analysis. I chose to use this method because I wanted to see where I had areas that possible had too much or too little of a color that I could go through and fix in my final draft. I feel as though this is a very effective technique because it showed me where I needed to go in and add more of my own ideas, add more of my main source, and make sure that there was a roughly equal balance between them all. The only issue with this is seeing the local problems. It wasn’t clear where I needed to go in and fix punctuation, MLA citation and all the other local problems. It did help more with global revisions as it showed me where I needed to add, take out, or move certain sources and ideas. This was a helpful technique to allow for self-revision. As I get assigned more papers, I will continue to use this technique. I will also try to find a technique that I can incorporate with this one to add the local revision piece. I do feel that I have improved significantly in this area.
